BASIS Ed is in search of a dedicated Behavioral Support Educator to enhance our vibrant and committed educational team.

Position Summary

The Behavioral Support Educator plays a crucial role in providing assistance to classroom instructors. This position may involve teaching specific subjects and substituting for current educators. It offers an opportunity to immerse oneself in the BASIS Charter School framework and methodology, equipping you for future teaching roles or other educational opportunities.

This role is integral to the school environment, addressing various student needs and contributing to a positive, achievement-focused school culture.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is mandatory
  • Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or a satisfactory state background check
  • Availability for full-time work
  • Willingness to undertake the NES Elementary Education Assessment, if required
  • Flexibility to be considered for various campuses beyond the initially preferred location
  • Commitment to maintaining current knowledge in subject matter and BASIS Charter School teaching strategies

Key Responsibilities (may vary based on campus requirements)

  • Engaging in classroom instruction, both part-time and as a substitute
  • Supporting teachers with classroom management and student behavior
  • Providing academic assistance and tutoring to students
  • Collaborating with teachers on events, labs, and assessments
  • Assisting in evaluating student progress and needs
  • Proctoring examinations
  • Overseeing students during non-scheduled periods, including supervision during early and late arrivals and lunch
  • Managing study groups
  • Supporting school leadership in behavior management and discipline
  • Contributing to the execution of key school programs
