Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the effective and efficient operations of the organization's Human Resource Department. This position is based in Anchorage, Alaska, with a Hybrid schedule available (M/T/TH in office, W/F remote) after the initial onboarding period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists with recruiting and hiring activities, including job posting, sourcing candidates, conducting phone-screens, scheduling interviews, and coordinating pre-employment screens.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Performs timely and accurate data entry into the HR Information System (HRIS).
  • Provides excellent customer service, answering frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, and more.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events, such as hiring events, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and holiday parties.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department and works on special projects as requested.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality when managing sensitive candidate/employee information.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior administrative or office experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Proven administrative and/or HR experience in a professional office setting.
