Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Lead to assist the Transportation Manager in managing routes and route drivers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and distribution, with a focus on maintaining a safe and efficient transportation network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Transportation Manager in activities relating to distribution, including route planning and driver supervision.
  • Promote teamwork among individuals under their supervision, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and have the ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
  • Assist in overseeing maintenance of delivery vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Assist in managing delivery schedules, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Learn all aspects of an assigned route, including traffic patterns and delivery procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in random drug screen checks and maintain a clean driving record.
Requirements
  • Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • At least 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience in a transportation or logistics setting.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, including relief driving as needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds overhead and push/pull carts weighing up to 700 pounds.
  • Meet all DOT and company requirements, including medical certification and physical abilities exam.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
