Job Summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a highly skilled Contracts and Grants Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our research administration team, you will be responsible for managing and providing direction on pre-award and post-award contract and grant activities within the College of Arts & Sciences.

This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of financial management, proposal preparation, and grants management. You will work closely with faculty and staff to ensure compliance with sponsor terms and conditions, manage post-award activities, and resolve issues related to grant administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all contract and grant proposal submissions
  • Assist with proposal development, including estimating project costs and preparing project budgets
  • Prepare and submit proposal packages in university and sponsor systems
  • Ensure compliance with sponsor terms and conditions
  • Manage, monitor, track, and report on post-award activities
  • Resolve post-award issues by working closely with departmental and university post-award staff
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a Master's degree and 1-2 years of experience in research administration, or a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, proposal preparation, and grants management.

Preferred qualifications include experience with UNC-CH systems, financial and pre-/post-award management workflow tools, and managing funds and awards for multiple principal investigators across multiple units.
