Position Overview:


The Animal Care Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring a clean, efficient, and healthy environment for the animals under our care.

A typical day for an Animal Care Attendant includes:

Maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility, including the kennel area, runs, treatment zones, and outdoor spaces.

Feeding animals that are hospitalized or boarded.

Monitoring and documenting vital information regarding the animals' health, behavior, and habits (such as eating and elimination).

Walking animals three times daily.

Alerting the Veterinarian or Veterinary Assistant to any unusual medical or behavioral concerns.

Cleaning treatment, examination, surgery, and laboratory areas on a daily basis.

Managing laundry throughout the day and ensuring the laundry area remains organized.

Assisting the Veterinarian and Veterinary Technicians/Assistants with animal restraint and treatment.

Overseeing and maintaining kennel inventory, including food, cleaning supplies, and laundry materials.


Performing additional tasks as assigned to support the Veterinarian, Receptionist, and Veterinary Technicians/Assistants in ensuring the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently, while providing excellent service to our clients.


Qualifications and Responsibilities:
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

A flexible schedule is required, including availability for some weekend and holiday shifts.

Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, is necessary.

Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle stressful situations are essential.

The candidate must possess the physical and mental stamina to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Ability to lift over 50 pounds is required.

Previous experience in a kennel or animal care setting is advantageous.
