Position Overview:


The Animal Care Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for the animals in our care.

A typical day for an Animal Care Technician includes:

1. Ensuring the cleanliness of the facility, including animal enclosures, treatment areas, and outdoor spaces.

2. Providing meals for hospitalized animals and boarders.

3. Observing and documenting key information regarding the animals' health, behavior, and routines (such as eating and elimination).

4. Walking and exercising animals multiple times throughout the day.

5. Reporting any unusual medical or behavioral concerns to the veterinary team.

6. Cleaning treatment, examination, surgical, and laboratory areas on a daily basis.

7. Managing laundry tasks and maintaining an organized laundry area.

8. Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal handling and treatment procedures.

9. Keeping track of inventory for food, cleaning supplies, and other necessary items.


10. Performing additional duties as needed to support the veterinary team and ensure smooth clinic operations.


Qualifications and Skills:
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.

• Physical and mental capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to lift and carry over 50 lbs.

• Previous experience in animal care or a similar role is advantageous.
