Tenth Street Animal Hospital is a leading provider of veterinary care, seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and efficient environment for animals being treated or boarded at the hospital.
- Feed and care for hospitalized animals and boarders.
- Monitor and record important information about animals' conditions, behavior, and habits.
- Walk animals three times a day and notify veterinarians of any unusual medical or behavioral problems.
- Clean treatment, exam, surgery, and lab areas daily.
- Maintain laundry and inventory of food, cleaning supplies, and other essential items.
- Assist veterinarians with restraint and treatment of animals.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Flexible schedule, including some weekend and vacation shifts.
- Strong communication skills, good judgment, and ability to manage stressful situations.
- Physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Previous experience as a kennel assistant or similar role.
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
