Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Commissioning Specialist for a prominent Offshore Windfarm developer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The M&E engineer will oversee and participate in the testing and operation of OSS & WTG auxiliary systems and related controls, including but not limited to heating, cooling, ventilation, cleaning water systems, diesel storage, supply, standby generators, fire alarms, lighting, navigational aids, and safety-critical equipment.
  • Ensure that the offshore substation equipment is functioning correctly and adheres to design specifications.
  • Act as the onsite owner's representative to witness, inspect, audit, and accept work activities and documentation associated with commissioning.
  • Maintain compliance with the electrical health and safety program throughout all work activities.
  • Authorize, audit, and supervise electrical tasks as necessary in the capacity of an electrical authorized person.
  • Coordinate, resolve conflicts, and document commissioning operations both onshore and offshore.
  • Monitor OSS commissioning progress and generate reports as required.
  • Support all commissioning activities from onshore to offshore during the project lifecycle.
  • Assist the Commissioning Manager with project planning and preparation tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with the OSS commissioning As-Built Documentation handover process.
  • Review technical procedures, documents, checklists, and schedules for accuracy and relevance.
  • Contribute to the development and review of plans and procedures for commissioning, isolation, and energization of project assets.
  • Lead meetings with suppliers regarding commissioning execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field focusing on mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical/electrical construction or relevant sectors.
  • Strong understanding of technical documentation, including drawings, single-line diagrams, and specifications.
  • Proficient in testing and configuring electrical equipment and associated measurement tools.
  • Experience supervising low and high voltage electrical work, along with electrical safety and isolation programs.
  • Experience managing work on construction sites, both onshore and offshore, including work at heights.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed; up to 50% travel may be required between various facilities. A current passport and valid driver's license are essential.
  • Ability to obtain necessary authorizations and pass background checks.
  • Capability to acquire GWO, HUET, and other relevant fitness certifications for offshore work.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple work scopes and objectives effectively.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to engage with individuals for whom English is a second language.
  • Ability to collaborate within a diverse, international team, influencing decisions and responding positively to project challenges.
