Position Overview:
An Offshore Electrical Commissioning Specialist is sought for a leading Offshore Windfarm developer.
Key Responsibilities:
- The specialist will oversee and engage in the testing and operation of offshore substation (OSS) and wind turbine generator (WTG) auxiliary systems, including but not limited to heating, cooling, ventilation, water treatment, diesel storage, and safety systems.
- Ensure that all offshore substation equipment is functioning correctly and adheres to design specifications.
- Act as the onsite representative to witness, inspect, and validate work activities and documentation related to commissioning.
- Adhere to and promote electrical health and safety protocols during all operational activities.
- Authorize and supervise electrical tasks as required, acting as an electrical authorized person.
- Coordinate and document commissioning operations both onshore and offshore.
- Monitor OSS commissioning progress and prepare necessary reports.
- Support all commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist the Commissioning Manager with project planning and execution.
- Ensure compliance with the OSS commissioning As-Built Documentation handover process.
- Review technical documentation, including procedures and schedules, for accuracy and relevance.
- Participate in the development and review of plans and procedures for commissioning and energization of project assets.
- Lead discussions with suppliers regarding commissioning execution.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field focused on mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical/electrical construction or related areas.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation, including drawings and specifications.
- Experience with testing and configuring electrical equipment and measurement tools.
- Proven experience supervising low and high voltage electrical work and safety programs.
- Experience in overseeing construction activities in various environments, including offshore and at heights.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, with a valid passport and driver's license.
- Ability to obtain necessary authorizations and pass background checks.
- Capability to acquire relevant offshore fitness certifications.
- Proven leadership skills to manage multiple tasks and objectives effectively.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to engage with diverse teams.
- A collaborative mindset to work within an international team, adapting to project challenges.
