Role Summary:

The Client is in search of a consultant program manager tasked with overseeing the daily operational activities of the design program. This role involves providing leadership and direction to a team dedicated to ensuring that technology initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively for end-users. The program manager will ensure that all projects align with the Client's overarching technology strategy. This position includes supervising staff across various IT functions within a single IT Portfolio, which encompasses areas such as Project Management, Customer Relationship Management, Data Management, Business Intelligence & Reporting, Enterprise and Solution Architecture, Application Development, Security, Governance, Compliance, and IT Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Initiatives: Manage Information Technology initiatives for the designated program, assigning resources to project teams to fulfill deliverables.
  • IT Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to client policies, standards, and guidelines governing IT systems.
  • Program Maintenance: Supervise staff and operations within the assigned program to maintain consistent processes and quality standards.
  • Execute Program: Oversee staff involved in specific IT functions, ensuring effective execution of daily processes. Engage with peer supervisors and IT Portfolio Managers to address customer needs.
  • Manage Programs and Projects: Plan and implement the delivery of technology projects or services, overseeing staff assignments and priorities. Develop training plans and best practices for team members.
  • Strategic Management: Collaborate with peers to define the strategic direction for the technology program, evaluating tools and prioritizing efforts with stakeholders.
  • Business Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing business processes through technological solutions, creating tools to boost efficiency.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates on project plans, timelines, and progress. Participate in strategic planning for programs and systems.
  • Ensure Compliance: Manage compliance and ensure staff adherence to required policies and procedures.
  • Improve Processes: Track operational metrics related to IT functions, using data to enhance specific processes.

Required Skills:

  • Proven ability to supervise technical staff and manage programs.
  • Experience coordinating multiple complex projects and teams.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in computer and software applications.
  • Technical troubleshooting skills across applications, systems, and networks.
  • Ability to perform system analysis and design.
  • Competence in collecting and organizing performance metrics for management review.
  • Experience in developing and applying IT policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience managing IT functions, including Governance, Compliance, and Project Management.
  • Knowledge of technologies relevant to leading an IT program area.
  • Strong skills in people and resource management.
  • Experience leading IT professionals in planning and implementing technology programs for large organizations.
