About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our Construction Services team in Nashville, Tennessee. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing construction material project plans, recording observations and test results, and maintaining field and laboratory equipment to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect construction materials according to the International Building Code (IBC)
  • Communicate effectively with management, contractors, and clients to ensure project success
  • Perform inspections of construction materials, including soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt
  • Record observations and test results, and maintain accurate records
  • Travel out-of-town for assignments as necessary

About You:

  • You have a high school diploma/GED
  • You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials OR 1 year of related experience plus vocational training OR an associate degree in a related field with no experience
  • You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • You have math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
  • You are able to complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device
  • You have (1)one or more active certifications: American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician DOT Certifications in the fields of Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete
