We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our team at Metropolitan Pediatrics LLC. As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain vital signs, and review patient information in preparation for appointments with providers.
- Administer diagnostic tests and physician-approved procedures, such as immunizations and others as assigned.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient and quality patient care.
- Update the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with relevant information.
- Schedule patient appointments, answer the telephone, and follow-up with patients/families in a professional and courteous manner.
- Participate in site-specific and clinic-wide initiatives on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
- Provide excellent patient interactions using clear communication and problem-solving skills.
- High school education or equivalent required.
- 6-12 months of experience in a clinical setting or relevant courses taken at an accredited vocational school, or a combination of both required.
- Medical assistant certification/license preferred (CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, EMT or LPN). If not currently certified, this position requires successfully obtaining medical assistant credentials within 6 months from date of hire and must be kept current.
- Prior EMR experience preferred.
- CPR and basic life support required and maintained.
