Job Summary:
As a Certified Medical Assistant at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive care experience. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide clinical and administrative support, ensuring that patients receive exceptional care. Your clinical duties will involve direct and indirect patient care activities, requiring both simple and complex clinical knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Tasks: You will be responsible for preparing patients for office visits, collecting pertinent data, and utilizing standardized tools to identify health maintenance gaps. You will also recognize signs and symptoms of common medical illnesses and report them to the clinician. Additionally, you will provide patients with after-visit instructions and educational materials as directed by the clinician.
  • Clinical Procedures: You will perform diagnostic tests, therapies, and procedures within the scope of your authorized duties, maintaining proficiency and adhering to established policies and procedures. This may include screening tests, diagnostic tests, medication administration, wound care, and other procedures.
  • Practice Management Activities: You will maintain and adjust the clinician's patient schedule, answer and respond to incoming messages, and facilitate follow-up duties on patients' plans of care. You will also provide population-based care outreach activities, including health maintenance screening as directed by the clinician.
  • Teamwork, Leadership, and Professional Development: You will perform daily activities to start workflow in the work area, demonstrate flexibility, and assist with on-boarding new hires. You will also report errors, near misses, or other hazards in a timely manner and complete annual competency assessments and trainings.
