We are currently looking for a Residential Building Code Inspector. The primary responsibilities will involve conducting building code inspections and/or plans review (covering mechanical, electrical, and plumbing as licensed) for both residential and commercial properties, along with overseeing specific projects related to these inspections.

Some travel may be necessary for inspections and project management within the designated area. The inspector roles are mainly field-based, though there may be occasional office tasks, while the Plan Examiners positions are primarily office-oriented.

Job Responsibilities:

Key Functions include:

  • Conducting Building Code Reviews and/or Quality Control Inspections
  • Preparing written and electronic reports, and issuing notices of correction
  • Explaining and interpreting code and/or quality control regulations or requirements
  • Identifying, assessing, and effectively resolving unique problems or situations
  • Maintaining strong customer service relationships with clients and the public
  • Assisting the inspection management team with business development initiatives
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by the Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify, candidates must possess:

  • A valid state of Florida commercial building inspection license (BN#) in two or more of the following areas: building (structural), mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or 1 & 2 family dwelling (residential combo).
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in plan review and/or inspections
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education
  • A valid State Driver's license with a clean driving record
