Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Inspector to join our team at the Town of Davie. As a Structural Inspector, you will be responsible for enforcing State and local building codes, reviewing building construction projects, and ensuring compliance with Town ordinances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce State and local building codes to ensure compliance with Town ordinances
  • Review building construction projects to determine adherence to building codes
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve code-related issues
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited High School or GED equivalent
  • Meet the qualifications for Structural Inspector, as set forth by the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals pursuant to Section 104.16.3 of the Broward County Amendments to the Florida Building code
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work a four-day workweek schedule (10 hours per day) with hours of work being Monday through Thursday either 7:00am-5:30pm or 7:30am-6:00pm
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in building code enforcement or construction monitoring
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
