Position Summary:
This role is essential in assisting Kids Club Supervisors in delivering educational and supervisory support to children enrolled in the School Age Child Care program and other Out-of-School Time (OST) initiatives. The individual will aid in executing lesson plans, preparing for activities, engaging in program events, and fostering positive relationships with children, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the implementation of lesson plans that adhere to state and program standards, covering areas such as physical activity, arts, literacy, STEM, cultural/language education, life skills, and social-emotional learning. Actively lead and participate in all program activities.
  2. Collaborate with the team to enhance the mental, physical, social, and emotional development of all children. Address student needs promptly and apply positive behavior intervention strategies, while keeping the Kids Club Supervisor informed of any concerns.
  3. Ensure the safety and security of children in the School Age Child Care Program and other OST programs. Maintain accurate attendance records and monitor the environment to uphold safety standards.
  4. Model appropriate behavior and implement strategies to guide children in forming positive social connections. Utilize techniques such as peer mediation and conflict resolution as necessary.
  5. Adhere to district and Kids Club policies, including emergency procedures, confidentiality, and reporting requirements. Support reasonable accommodations as needed.
  6. Prepare materials and equipment for activities, including set-up and clean-up, and assist in meal preparation while encouraging student participation.
  7. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality with students, families, and staff.
  8. Engage in staff development and participate in required meetings.
  9. Exhibit professionalism, respect, and equity towards all students, staff, and families.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Competencies as required by state and federal regulations.
  3. Strong teamwork, confidentiality, professionalism, and communication skills.
  4. Ability to provide respectful services to students as directed by supervisors.
  5. Exhibit appropriate behavior and a positive learning environment.
  6. Participate in district-sponsored training.
  7. Basic computer skills, including email and word processing.
  8. Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
  9. Consistent and reliable attendance.
  10. Positive communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  11. Appreciation of diversity in all interactions.
Desired:
  1. Experience with behavioral management techniques.
  2. Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  3. Relevant training in childcare.
  4. Experience working with children in a childcare setting.
  5. Knowledge of elementary students' academic and behavioral characteristics.
