Core Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions)
  • Administers medications in accordance with the scope of practice and hospital policies.
  • Evaluates, interprets, and documents the physical and mental status of patients.
  • Identifies patient care needs by establishing rapport with patients and their families, working collaboratively to address care requirements.
  • Encourages patient independence by setting care goals, educating patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
  • Ensures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring health outcomes against established patient care goals.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following procedures and regulations, seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Protects patient confidentiality and maintains operational integrity by documenting and communicating actions and needs in the electronic medical record.
  • Enhances professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Completes required annual competency and regulatory education.
  • Contributes to team success by achieving results measured by various performance metrics.
Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Comprehensive knowledge of various medical equipment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills along with critical thinking abilities.
  • Capability to administer medications in line with established policies.
  • Familiarity with National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Ability to interpret laboratory and diagnostic results relevant to patient status.
  • Proficient in communicating across disciplines using SBAR methodology.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exhibits a courteous, compassionate, and positive demeanor in support of the organization.
  • Possesses clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control knowledge, and teamwork abilities.
  • ED/ICU Requirement: ACLS; MED SURG AREAS Requirement: BLS; College Diploma in Nursing Required.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred.
  • College Diploma in Nursing Required.
  • 0 years of experience Required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certified in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation.
