Marine Systems Technician

Amentum is seeking a skilled Marine Systems Technician with expertise in diesel mechanics and small vessel operations. This role involves executing both preventive and corrective maintenance, conducting pre-start and post-operation inspections, and managing propulsion systems during both in-port and underway operations on Navy watercraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance tasks on propulsion systems and associated equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and operational checks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage casualty control procedures during operations.
  • Travel may be required for various assignments.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A background as a Navy Electrician or Electronics Technician, particularly with Improved Navy Lighterage System (INLS) experience.
  • A minimum of six (6) years in Navy EM/ET rating or equivalent civilian experience.
  • Familiarity with 460 and 115 Vac distribution systems, 24 Vdc, diesel engine electronic control systems, and programmable logic controllers.

Flexibility in work hours may be necessary based on training requirements, and occasional overtime may be expected. Work is conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments, necessitating adherence to high standards of personal grooming and workspace cleanliness.
