Hornblower is in search of a Marine Engineer to enhance our operations. This role requires a dynamic individual who embodies our commitment to excellence and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate mastery in all functions of the Marine Mechanic role.
  • Lead and execute comprehensive diesel engine repairs across the fleet.
  • Propose and implement innovative systems and solutions.
  • Oversee the repair and replacement of pilothouse electronics and vessel media systems.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and external contractors to ensure seamless repairs.
  • Rebuild and maintain all pump systems, including alignment and coupling.
  • Utilize industry-standard engineering tools and techniques effectively.
  • Exhibit OEM-level craftsmanship in parts and system design.
  • Manage projects and timelines efficiently.
  • Make informed decisions and report accurately on project progress and challenges.
  • Mentor junior Marine Mechanics to enhance their skills and ensure project success.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Hybrid Propulsion Systems.
  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repairs competently.
  • Understand departmental engineering needs and requirements.
  • Interpret laboratory test data and summarize findings for management.
  • Maintain accurate logs and task completion records.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new skills for effective problem-solving.
  • Organize workload efficiently and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Ensure all engineering systems adhere to best practice maintenance schedules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and safe working practices.
  • HAZWOPER certification (40 hours).
  • Forklift certification.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience in welding, brazing, soldering, and metalwork.
