  • Deliver engineering support for U.S. Navy vessels, focusing on Electrical and Amphibious Ship Control Systems. This encompasses various systems, subsystems, and equipment including:
    • Electrical cabling, power distribution circuits, and marine electrical systems.
    • Control systems for Main Propulsion Diesel Engines, Gas turbines, and other generator sets.
    • Monitoring and control systems for propulsion generators and motors.
    • Auxiliary systems such as battery chargers, UPS, and automatic speed control systems.
    • Systems related to ballast control and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Provide training and technical expertise in the maintenance and repair of electrical and amphibious ship control systems to military personnel during assessments and evaluations.
  • Conduct technical assessments and offer repair recommendations in a structured report format.
  • Perform ship visits to deliver technical guidance for repairs and troubleshooting as required.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of onboard Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and validate equipment configurations.
  • Facilitate on-the-job training for maintenance personnel, covering repairs, troubleshooting, and safety protocols.
  • Engage with ship personnel to report on conditions found, repairs made, and training conducted, ensuring any unresolved issues are communicated to leadership.
  • Submit comprehensive reports detailing the material condition and operational status of systems.
  • Assist in the research and resolution of technical issues.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in U.S. Navy shipboard engine control systems maintenance and repair.
  • Possession of a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training as a Smart Ship Engineering Control System Equipment Operator and Maintenance Technician.
  • Experience specific to DDG 1000 systems.
Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $26.07 to $47.79 hourly, reflecting a reasonable estimate based on various factors including market conditions and candidate qualifications.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to work in diverse environments, including aboard ships and in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to travel, including potential extended periods at sea.
