Job Overview

The Program Director is a key figure in the online Master of Science in Analytics program at Middlebury College. This individual will lead the program, serving as a subject matter expert and the primary point of contact for prospective and current students, as well as relevant professional and academic communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the program's vision and learning outcomes in collaboration with faculty colleagues.
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of program offerings, ensuring their continued relevance and quality.
  • Promote the program through internal and external partnerships to attract, retain, and support students.
  • Identify and engage subject matter experts and practitioners as affiliate faculty, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Evaluate program performance annually, using both quantitative and qualitative methods, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Work closely with the online program manager and academic advisor to monitor student progress and ensure successful program completion.
  • Stay current and connected through active participation in professional organizations and conferences.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism, promoting learner access, success, and engagement.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, or a related field is required; a doctorate is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years' experience teaching in a graduate or professional development context is necessary.
  • Familiarity with licensing and certification requirements for the field is essential.
  • Knowledge of best practices in online teaching and learning, including assessment and competency-based education, is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills, including the ability to work with diverse populations, are essential.
  • The ability to adapt to changing technologies and systems is crucial.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Compliance with Institute policies, procedures, and mandates is required.
