As a professional in Controls and Instrumentation Engineering, your role will encompass engineering tasks related to automation, control systems, and the implementation of digital data and analytics (DDA) within the production of biological drug substances and sterile products. Your individual responsibilities will include the ideation, specification, design, delivery, construction, start-up, and qualification of instrumentation, control systems, and digital execution systems in various work packages, which may involve drug substance purification, formulation, filling, assembly, packaging, or support infrastructure (utilities, laboratories, warehousing).

This role presents an opportunity for you to lead significant initiatives that will advance your career. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the operational and technical management of digital asset delivery within a manufacturing environment across all network levels, including Level 3 - Execution systems (e.g., MES, LES), Level 2 - Control systems (e.g., DCS, BAS), and Level 1 (e.g., IoT).
  • Directing engineering and technical efforts in the design, specification, procurement, and deployment of automation and digital assets and applications within a manufacturing area. You will also lead automation and coding initiatives in the design, implementation, and operational support of automated and digital solutions.
  • Ensuring that all digital operations adhere to GSK guidelines and standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements, particularly concerning cybersecurity and data integrity.
  • Maintaining business continuity in all aspects of automated solutions and digital operations, including network and system security against cyber threats, data integrity and availability, critical spare parts, asset supportability, and compliance with EHS and Quality standards.
  • Supporting the construction, commissioning, qualification, and continuous production of vaccines and medicines that are vital to patient quality of life and contribute significantly to the company's revenue.
  • Providing on-call support for manufacturing troubleshooting and planned upgrades.
  • Managing the efforts and resources required in your area or work package to meet technical, budgetary, and scheduling objectives.
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety, MSAT, Manufacturing, Quality, and Corporate Engineering teams to ensure that each project aligns with approved user requirements.
  • Incorporating EHS corporate standards, local legislation, and other Quality and Regulatory requirements during project planning and execution, while also identifying and assessing potential EHS risks that could impact the business.
