About this Role:
We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team at Carrier. As a Journeyman with our company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our customers. Your expertise in Commercial HVAC will be essential in working on a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and provide recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Install, replace, or repair equipment, including thermostatic controls, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts, and low- and high-pressure liquid lines.
- Assemble and install metal ductwork to ensure proper airflow and ventilation.
- Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems to meet customer needs.
- Provide estimates of materials required for projects.
- Repair and replace damaged parts and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams to understand system layouts and components.
- Read and interpret City, State, and EPA regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Recognize risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations and implement controls to ensure safe work practices.
- Identify situations that require escalation or elevation to Supervisor or Manager for guidance or additional support.
- Participate in all required safety training and actively carry state or national required licensing.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5+ years of practical working experience in the HVAC Industry
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to stand, crawl, sit, and squat for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of building automation controls
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax
