Job Title: Quality Control Specialist
  • Location: Lafayette, IN
  • Shift: 6:50pm-7am (12-hour, swing shifts)

Starting Pay Rate: $24.19

Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate material testing equipment and perform tasks to prepare raw materials and mixed stock for production.
  • Ensure product quality, maintain a tidy work environment, and adhere to good housekeeping practices.

Key Duties Include:
  • Identifying various types of stock.
  • Utilizing, cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating equipment such as Multimeters and Load Bank testers as required.
  • Reporting any out-of-specification results in stock or machine testing to the appropriate personnel and ensuring non-conforming materials are restricted.
  • Conducting retests, skid tests, and yellow tag testing of materials as necessary.
  • Informing the lab supervisor or Department Manager of any stock labeling violations or complaints during your shift.
  • Performing basic housekeeping tasks, ensuring that the lab and testing equipment are cleaned daily.
  • May occasionally be required to undertake additional duties not specified in this description.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in reading and using measuring devices.
  • Availability to work weekends.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
  • Competence in reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Entry-level electrical experience is preferred.

Working Conditions:
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Adaptability to temperature changes in the lab.
  • Capability to adjust to unexpected changes in product orders.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting and carrying products weighing up to 25 pounds repeatedly over an 8-hour work period.
  • Walking or standing for most of the shift, including stooping, bending, and squatting.
  • Occasional exposure to odors or dirt while collecting samples for testing.
  • Efficient and safe operation of testing equipment.
  • Maintaining daily records of test errors.
