About the Role:

BHS Robotics is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a dynamic and innovative environment. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in developing custom automated solutions for various industries, including Automotive, Manufacturing, Consumer Products, and Medical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop manufacturing machinery and assembly equipment to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform technical project activities, including machine concept and design using SolidWorks, selection of purchased components, timing diagrams, engineering calculations, and adherence to project-specific specifications and performance expectations.
  • Develop strong grasp of product fixturing, pneumatics, hydraulics, cold forming, fastening, electronic sensors selection, material selection, and their related machine integration capabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest electro-mechanical devices, including presses, robots, conveyors, pick and places, gantries, indexing dials, walking beams, automatic product handling (feeding, presenting, orienting), and power transmission.
  • Understand in-process product inspection and testing, including leak testing, flow testing, vision inspection, load cells, LVDT's, torque sensing, eddy current inspection, and electrical testing.
  • Resolve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Travel up to 5% of the time to collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to crouch.
  • Ability to work within a noisy shop environment.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency in the engineering of equipment utilized within robotic welding operations.
  • 10+ years of prior experience required as a mechanical engineer in an automation company.
  • CRM experience and experience utilizing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint-based tools required.
  • Experience in communicating with customers and presenting solutions in person, electronically, and verbally required.
  • SolidWorks advanced capabilities required.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances per ASME/ANSI required.
  • Strong quantitative, design, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Experience with structural FEA required.
