Position Summary:

The Senior Project Engineering Specialist will lead the design, analysis, and testing of GE Aviation products. This role encompasses new product innovation, addressing field challenges, conducting research, and providing production support. The focus will be on advanced pneumatic valves and linear actuators utilized in aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in pneumatic, hydraulic, or fuel-actuated valves.
  • Implement design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects while adhering to sound engineering principles and organizational standards.
  • Engage in mechanical and/or electrical engineering tasks for all product lines.
  • Lead new product initiatives, risk mitigation strategies, and guide technical team members.
  • Possess a deep understanding of key business drivers to effectively achieve project goals.
  • Comprehend how your team's work integrates with other departments and contributes to overall objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience).
  • At least 3 years of experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or fuel-actuated valves.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in the field of pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or fuel-actuated valves.
  • Familiarity with aviation actuators, fans, and blowers.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks and/or NX.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute engineering programs with established project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in new product development and technology maturation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to analyze and resolve technical challenges.
  • Knowledge of tollgate processes and aviation certification standards (FAR 25 and FAR 33).
  • Understanding of AS9100 standards.
  • Experience with LEAN methodologies and principles.

This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will be contingent upon the ability to obtain authorization for access to such information from the U.S. Government, if applicable.
