POSITION SUMMARY :


The Cytology Specialist is responsible for the preparation, staining, and examination of cellular specimens to identify signs of malignancy, hormonal imbalances, and other medical conditions, adhering to established protocols and standards.

This role involves creating microscopic slides from various bodily samples, ensuring proper fixation and staining to enhance cellular visibility under a microscope.

The specialist meticulously analyzes slides to detect structural abnormalities in cells and communicates findings to the Pathologist. Additionally, this position may involve overseeing and coordinating the activities of cytology laboratory personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Cytology or a related scientific field

Or equivalent education necessary to meet the registry requirements set by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, along with successful completion of a 12-month CAHEA accredited Cytotechnology program.


Experience:

License/Certification:
Must hold registration from the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Cytotechnologist.
