Technical Team Leader

Position: Technical Team Leader

Department: Engineering

Location: OSS Headquarters

OVERVIEW

A Technical Team Leader is responsible for guiding engineering initiatives and managing teams within the organization. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and managerial acumen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise a group of engineers to produce high-quality solutions encompassing software, systems, electrical, and mechanical engineering.

• Assist teams in troubleshooting technical challenges and promote best practices.

• Address complex issues and devise strategies to alleviate them.

• Procure materials to support research and development or fulfill customer requirements.

• Serve as both a technical and managerial authority, set team goals, and ensure the delivery of superior outputs.

• Coordinate efforts across various engineering disciplines, including hardware, software, and manufacturing, to collaboratively identify and resolve challenges effectively.

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of high-speed designs, including the design, fabrication, and assembly of electrical systems.

• Manage relationships with suppliers.

• Cultivate strong partnerships or leverage existing ones.

• Understand the environmental, safety, and electromagnetic interference certifications required for new and derivative products.

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with product and manufacturing teams.

• Set objectives for business units with virtual desktop needs and strategize resource allocation to meet timelines and targets.

• Drive project timelines to assist program and project managers.

• Help establish realistic timelines and expectations with engineers and program members for stakeholders.

• Act as a mentor and advisor to team members to ensure adherence to schedules and resolve technical issues.

• Propose modifications to policies and establish procedures that impact the immediate team.

• Engage with senior management regarding team vision and development progress.

• Nurture future engineering leaders and mentor junior engineers and interns.

• Continuously assess and identify opportunities for improvement in established processes, infrastructure, and practices to ensure efficient and transparent team execution.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of a multi-disciplinary engineering design organization with the ability to accurately create, evaluate, and communicate a work breakdown structure for projects and implement a complex staffing strategy.
  • Experience in evaluating risks and opportunities throughout the design and testing phases, quantifying these risks for products and program teams.
  • Demonstrated success in managing staffing plans and schedules while driving funded projects and programs to timely and budget-compliant completion.

  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Location: OSS Headquarters

Salary Range: $150,000 to $160,000

This range is specifically for potential hires in the specified location. Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as the applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and market considerations. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family. Our Total Rewards package includes multiple medical and dental plans, vision coverage, disability and life insurance, 401(k) plans, stock options, and an Employee Assistance Program for personal well-being. The company provides 11 paid holidays and 3 weeks of paid time off.
