Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Supervisor plays a crucial role in leading food safety and quality assurance personnel, ensuring adherence to company standards for raw materials, processed products, and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee Quality Assurance staff, providing training, scheduling, and guidance for ongoing improvement.
  2. Coordinate and follow up on corrective actions from internal audits, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Defense protocols.
  3. Offer technical support to operations concerning process deviations and product specifications.
  4. Manage product retention and investigations to determine appropriate actions under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Manager.
  5. Conduct documentation reviews and verification activities, including HACCP assessments and SSOP monitoring.
  6. Assist in product traceability and mock recall exercises, as well as third-party and customer audits.
  7. Implement environmental monitoring programs, ensuring compliance through regular microbiological testing.
  8. Communicate deficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement to management, supporting corrective actions and process modifications.
  9. Maintain effective communication among teams regarding actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
  10. Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
  11. Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as necessary.
  12. Uphold and promote food safety and quality standards.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with 1-3 years of relevant experience in a USDA-regulated manufacturing environment; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, HACCP/PC certification, and process control training preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee management and leadership.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and implement strategies that enhance quality and profitability.
  • Experience in policy enforcement and program implementation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret business documents and regulations.
  • Proficient in mathematical operations relevant to quality analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
