Job Summary:

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Optimization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance organization, you will be responsible for driving reduction in overall maintenance downtime, while maintaining Equipment Safety, Quality, Productivity and Energy Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all planned maintenance activities within the area of responsibility to ensure compliance to the Maintenance Reliability Strategy for each piece of equipment.
  • Manage the planned Maintenance Optimization Program to ensure that all planned activities are value added.
  • Provide technical support to the Production Organization to promote the production of the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost.
  • Optimize storeroom inventory levels to sustain plant maintenance activities while minimizing inventory costs.
  • Ensure all Safety, Environmental and other required Regulatory Compliances have been scheduled and completed per requirements.
  • Lead efforts to meet Maintenance Objectives for planned work improvement, un-scheduled downtime reduction and other performance indicators.
  • Manage the stock of supplies/materials and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Support plant breakdown maintenance by supplying technical support, participating/leading root cause failure analysis, and creating an engineering solution to design/maintenance issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree 7 or more years of relevant work experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in Engineering/Maintenance Management (in an Industrial Environment).
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary Technical Associates to achieve cost-effective goals.
  • Equipment Design experience, along with working in a Project Engineering or Project Management role, is desired.
  • Experience in Problem-Solving Techniques (DMAIC, A3) is desired.
  • Experience with Plant Optimization/Operational Excellence is desired.

  • Ability to direct cross-functional work groups to achieve Operations Center and Facility Equipment Operational Objectives, Goals and Timeline.
  • Ability to perform Computerized Layouts and Spreadsheet Data Management.
  • Strong Organization, Communication, Business, Technical, Analytical, Planning and Scheduling skills.
  • Ability to understand Plant Layouts, Capital Estimating, Associate-Man Computations, Tire Cost Structure and Manufacturing Equipment Processes.
  • Demonstrated Leadership and Team-Building skills.
  • Intimate knowledge of Maintenance Best Practices, Predictive Maintenance Concepts/Planning/Scheduling Functionality.
