Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated faculty member to join our team as an Instructor- Limited Term in Hematology and Oncology. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our division, while also advancing your own career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and perfect clinical knowledge and skills in the evaluation and management of individuals with suspected or known monogenic cancer risk in an outpatient setting.
  • Develop an understanding of hereditary cancer syndromes and their genetic mechanisms, as well as genetic testing techniques and variant analysis.
  • Develop and initiate research projects with the guidance of faculty.
  • Become competent in the technical skills cancer risk analysis (i.e., skin punch biopsy).
  • Attend and participate in educational activities including weekly HCC case conferences, various tumor boards, and medical student, resident, and fellow education.
  • Complete the City of Hope Intensive Course in Genetic Cancer Risk Analysis.
  • Maintain current state licensure and hospital credentials.
Requirements
  • Must have completed residency training at an accredited school in the U.S., be board eligible/board certified.
  • Obtaining a Georgia medical license, DEA permit, and completion of hospital credentialing will be required prior to starting.
  • Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
    • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
    • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
    • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
    • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
    • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
