Body Shop Operations Manager

The Penske Body Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the body shop, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes managing staff, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and ensuring that all repairs are completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and motivate staff to achieve high levels of productivity and quality
- Oversee the completion of tasks, including cab and sheet metal repair, composite bonding and repair, heating and air conditioning systems, surface preparation, fiberglass repair, and box repair and replacement
- Perform diagnostic procedures and repairs, including suspension repair and alignment, electrical and brake and cooling system repairs, painting and mixing and tinting and blending, and welding and fabricating
- Coordinate daily work duties and communicate with internal and external customers
- Provide delegation of shop responsibilities and hold staff accountable
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- At least 3 years of body shop management experience
- At least 3 years of practical body shop experience
- Estimator certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational or technical school preferred
- Specialized training and experience in the repair and refinish of all series of truck and trailer
- Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade, including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools
- Valid driver's license required
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong written and oral communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
The associate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods. The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms. The associate must be able to see and hear in order to safely navigate the work environment. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
