Job Title: Inventory Control Manager

Department: Processing

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Role Summary:

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for supervising the Cycle Counters, Inventory Specialists, and Material Handlers. This role plays a crucial part in managing inventory and quality assurance while ensuring the timely release of raw materials to meet production requirements. The position is essential for maintaining accurate inventory across departments and ensuring that the production team has the necessary materials and documentation to fulfill the planned production schedule.

Production Oversight:

  • Oversee the raw material processes, utilizing SAP to monitor the completion of in-process work orders.
  • Collaborate with operations supervisors to ensure the accurate and timely completion of raw material transactions.
  • Communicate material concerns to the materials manager in coordination with the department manager.
  • Work with manufacturing supervisors, master planners, and procurement to address material status and production planning challenges.

Inventory Management:

  • Coordinate with the department manager to plan and execute regular cycle counts and Cherry Bekaert counts.
  • Partner with the Supply Chain and materials manager to investigate weekly inventory cycle count discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Update SAP with cycle count outcomes and provide necessary reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Safety department to promote safety initiatives and report incidents and near misses within the department.
  • Monitor movements in SAP to identify opportunities for improvement in transfers.
  • Conduct mandatory end-of-month inventory assessments.
  • Adhere to PPE requirements and be prepared for exposure to varying environmental conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in the SAP system is required.
  • Understanding of effective inventory management practices.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Material Planning and/or Production Scheduling is preferred.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector with a solid grasp of scheduling and inventory principles.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) is necessary.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old (or 18 years old in specific states).
  • Must comply with all legal and company regulations pertaining to the cannabis industry.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs to a height of at least 5 feet and carry such weight a distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Capable of working in a seated or standing position for extended periods, maintaining balance while climbing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Must handle organic materials daily and wear appropriate PPE as necessary.
  • Visual acuity is required for tasks such as reading and inspecting small parts.
  • Effective verbal communication is necessary in a moderate noise environment.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, is available for this position. The role typically requires an average of 40 hours per week, with availability for after-hours emergencies.
