Facility Maintenance Specialist

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the premises are clean, organized, and well-kept. This role involves sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, as well as dusting various surfaces. Duties also include cleaning walls, ceilings, windows, and other areas while effectively managing indoor pest control.
Key Responsibilities
- Mops restrooms, processing areas, dining spaces, hallways, production floors, and all types of flooring.
- Dusts meeting rooms and workspaces.
- Vacuums and/or shampoos carpets in areas such as meeting rooms, entryways, and office spaces.
- Empties waste bins and replaces liners in restrooms, breakrooms, and offices, while providing support to warehouse staff in the Press Department.
- Cleans walls in entryways, reception areas, restrooms, and dining areas.
- Polishes windows and glass doors.
- Disinfects telephones, handrails, and all doorknobs.
- Restocks supplies in restrooms and dining areas.
- Properly disposes of recyclable and non-recyclable waste.
- Cleans sinks, toilets, and drains in restrooms.
- Ensures custodial supplies are adequately stocked or ordered.
- Strips, waxes, and buffs floors as required.
- Lifts heavy items such as 50-pound waste containers, 15-pound chairs, and 25-pound mop buckets regularly.
- Maintains cleanliness of parking lots and grounds as necessary.
- Conducts weekly cleaning of dining refrigerators.
- Ensures snow removal from walkways and parking areas by clearing sidewalks and applying salt.
- Assists the Shipping Department with packing and shipping tasks when primary responsibilities are fulfilled.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Availability to work every third weekend of the month.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills; must be able to comprehend hazard communication standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Regular exposure to a manufacturing environment with potential unpleasant or hazardous conditions, including dust, dirt, high noise levels, and chemicals for more than 50% of the time.
- Constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push/pull, bend, stoop, twist, and use manual dexterity for extended periods.
- Regularly required to hear, speak, and utilize color vision.
- Regularly required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
