The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment within the facility. This role involves sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, as well as dusting various surfaces. You will also be tasked with cleaning walls, ceilings, windows, and other areas to ensure a hygienic atmosphere. Additionally, you will work to prevent and manage indoor pest issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mop and sanitize restrooms, processing rooms, dining areas, hallways, and all types of flooring.
- Dust and clean conference rooms and office spaces.
- Vacuum and/or shampoo carpets in designated areas such as conference rooms and entryways.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners in restrooms, breakrooms, and offices.
- Maintain cleanliness of walls in entryways, reception areas, and dining spaces.
- Polish windows and glass doors to ensure clarity and cleanliness.
- Disinfect frequently touched surfaces including telephones, handrails, and doorknobs.
- Restock restroom and dining area supplies as needed.
- Properly dispose of recyclable and non-recyclable waste.
- Clean sinks, toilets, and drains in restrooms.
- Ensure custodial supplies are adequately stocked or ordered as necessary.
- Strip, wax, and buff floors when required.
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas including parking lots and grounds.
- Clear snow from walkways and parking areas as needed.
- Assist in packing and shipping orders when primary duties are completed.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Availability to work every third weekend of the month.
- Basic literacy and math skills are essential.
- Ability to comprehend hazard communication standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
This position involves regular exposure to a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, and chemicals. The incumbent will frequently walk, stand, grasp, reach, push/pull, bend, stoop, twist, and utilize manual dexterity for extended periods. Regular hearing, speaking, and color vision capabilities are necessary. The role requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
