Job Summary:

As an Insurance Underwriter - Binder Specialist at CRC Insurance Services, Inc., you will play a critical role in underwriting new and renewal business in a call center atmosphere. Your responsibilities will include approving policy changes, maintaining workload, and controlling written business up to and including the time of binding according to Company guidelines and established procedures. You will provide high-quality professional service to Agents and Companies, ensuring timely and accurate processing of policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwrite new and renewal business, meeting or exceeding production goals as assigned by TAPCO.
Make approvals and disapprovals of endorsement quote requests according to internal and Company guidelines.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service.
Market TAPCO products and services to clients, identifying new business opportunities.
Instruct support staff on the handling of cancellation and non-renewal notices according to company requirements.
Review inspection reports and compare to the conditions represented at the time of quoting and binding, taking appropriate actions.
Maintain necessary licenses to produce business, staying up-to-date with industry developments.

Requirements:

Licensed in corresponding areas of insurance or willing to obtain appropriate licensures upon hire.
Ability to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
Ability to understand client needs and have knowledge of risk profiles associated with each policy.
Ability to recognize new trends and developments in the insurance industry, incorporating them into strategies.
Knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting and rating, applying this knowledge to policy decisions.
Ability to use company automation, including Windows, Word, Excel, and TAPSYS, to streamline processes.
Ability to develop, foster, and maintain excellent working relationships with agencies, ensuring seamless communication.
Ability to exercise discretion in making decisions, balancing business needs with customer requirements.
Leadership and team-playing skills, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve goals.
Ability to maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
Good written and verbal skills, communicating effectively with clients and colleagues.
Good telephone communication skills and phone etiquette, providing exceptional customer service.
Ability to maintain travel schedule depending on company needs, adapting to changing circumstances.
Ability to work extended hours when necessary, meeting deadlines and delivering results.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designation, demonstrating expertise in the field.
Three years of experience in production and marketing of new accounts, applying this knowledge to policy decisions.
