JOB SUMMARY

The role involves providing essential assistance to the Industrial Security Manager (ISM) and the Corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO) within the industrial security department. This position requires close collaboration with personnel who possess a 'need-to-know' status. A solid understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and general security protocols for Department of Defense (DOD) and other federal entities is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support all functions related to the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) as mandated by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). Responsibilities include creating individual DISS profiles, processing security clearance applications, verifying employee data, and managing visitor authorization requests.
  • Ensure the maintenance of facility clearance documentation and notifications for each cleared facility within the DCSA's framework, while aiding in facility clearance sponsorship efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate FSO to guarantee adherence to NISPOM and DD 441 regulations for all Katmai entities with facility clearances.
  • Prepare Visit Authorization Requests (VARs) through DISS or alternative methods.
  • Provide expert guidance to executives, program managers, and staff regarding security-related issues, including training and security clearance processes.
  • Review security documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring timely submission through government systems.
  • Instruct employees on the completion of security forms and related training requirements.
  • Report on the status of security clearance applications to management and employees undergoing periodic reinvestigation.
  • Maintain precise records of all security documentation in compliance with DCSA regulations and best practices.
  • Assist in monitoring adherence to security training programs across the organization, presenting security awareness materials to various groups as necessary.
  • Conduct internal audits and self-inspections at designated intervals.
  • Aid the Corporate FSO in preparing documentation for DCSA security assessments.
  • Provide security support to Human Resources, Contracts, and Proposal teams.
  • Ensure regular and punctual attendance.
  • Complete mandatory FSO training courses via DCSA within six months of employment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Proficient in using standard office equipment and industry-standard software.
  • Competent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access or similar database systems.
  • Experience with web-based data management systems.
  • Working knowledge of DCSA databases, including DISS, NBIS, NISS, and SWFT.
  • Understanding of requirements for handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Must obtain and maintain necessary security access and background checks.

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours per week, with potential for additional hours as needed.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel for training may be required, necessitating a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license and be insurable under the company's automobile insurance policy. Limited driving may be required for training purposes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily remote work, though the company reserves the right to require onsite presence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually
  • Eligible Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) Savings Plan, Life and AD&D Insurance, Disability Insurance, Prescription Drug Coverage, Paid Time Off, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
