POSITION SUMMARY
The role involves providing comprehensive assistance to the Industrial Security Manager (ISM) and the Corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO) within the industrial security division. This position requires collaboration with personnel who have a critical need for security information. The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) must possess a thorough understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) as outlined in 32 CFR Part 117, along with familiarity with security protocols for the Department of Defense (DOD) and other federal entities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support all functions related to the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) under the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). Responsibilities include creating individual DISS profiles, processing security clearance applications for DOD and Department of Energy (DoE), verifying employee data, and managing visitor authorization requests.
- Maintain and oversee facility clearance documentation and notifications for all cleared facilities within the DCSA framework, assisting in clearance sponsorship efforts.
- Collaborate with the Corporate FSO to ensure adherence to NISPOM and DD 441 standards across all Katmai entities with facility clearances.
- Prepare Visit Authorization Requests (VARs) through DISS or manual methods.
- Provide expert guidance to executives, program managers, and staff on security-related issues, including training and clearance processing.
- Review security documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring timely submission through the appropriate governmental systems.
- Instruct employees on the completion of security paperwork and related training requirements.
- Communicate the status of clearance applications to managers and personnel undergoing periodic reinvestigation.
- Maintain meticulous records of all security documentation in compliance with DCSA regulations and best practices.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with security training initiatives, presenting security awareness materials across the organization.
- Conduct internal audits and self-assessments at designated intervals.
- Aid the Corporate FSO in preparing documentation for DCSA security evaluations.
- Provide security assistance to Human Resources, Contracts, and Proposal teams.
- Ensure regular and punctual attendance.
- Complete mandatory FSO training courses through DCSA within six months of employment.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY ROLE
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- Proficient in using standard office equipment and software.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with database management systems, such as Microsoft Access.
- Experience with web-based data management systems.
- Working knowledge of DCSA databases, including DISS, NBIS, NISS, and SWFT.
- Understanding of protection protocols for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Must maintain necessary security access and background checks.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with potential for additional hours as necessary to fulfill project requirements.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional travel may be necessary for training purposes, which may require completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
A valid state driver's license is required, and the candidate must be insurable under the company's automobile insurance policy. Limited driving may be required for training or local tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position is primarily remote, although the company reserves the right to require onsite work as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually
