Job Description
Bureau of Naval Personnel is currently looking for an experienced Human Resources Assistant to join their team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and personnel actions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, be proficient in automated systems, and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

About the Role
This position involves working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and ability to multitask are essential. You will be part of a close-knit team that works collaboratively to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and personnel actions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to analyze complex data, and possess strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks related to payroll and personnel, including:
  • Analyzing employee documents to determine pay entitlements.
  • Advising customers about personnel actions, processes and procedures.
  • Discussing pay-related resolutions with human resources professionals.
  • Identifying errors with employee pay entitlements.


Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
  • Be a US Citizen.
  • Be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interimand/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate maintaining records to ensure they are accurate and up to date, using automated systems to perform administrative support functions, and utilizing standard office equipment to perform a substantial range of office automation support functions.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $45,000 per year, based on the job title, location, and industry standards. As a federal employee, you and your family will have access to a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
