Location: Based in Detroit, MI; Travel Required

Salary: $100,000-$115,000 annual base salary

Role Overview: The Construction Project Supervisor reports directly to the VP of Project Management and is tasked with overseeing on-site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality benchmarks on commercial and industrial projects nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning: Collaborating with management and subcontractors to identify project requirements, establish objectives, set timelines, and manage all on-site construction activities.

Cost Management: Monitoring expenses to ensure the project remains within budget.

Procurement Management: Ordering materials and supplies while tracking inventory levels and orders.

Safety Oversight: Enforcing safety and quality protocols, conducting safety briefings, and maintaining a secure, clean, and organized job site.

Team Supervision: Leading construction personnel, overseeing subcontractors and junior staff, and providing constructive feedback.

Effective Communication: Ensuring clear communication with project stakeholders and resolving any on-site issues or conflicts.

Progress Monitoring: Tracking and reporting on project advancement, preparing progress updates, and providing look-ahead schedules to management.

Regulatory Compliance: Guaranteeing adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a construction-related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in commercial or industrial construction estimating, engineering, design, or management.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States (40%-60%).
  • CPR, First Aid, OSHA-30 training, and Certified Storm Water Operator certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Business-oriented professional with excellent organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Strong communication skills, with proven problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in basic computer applications, Microsoft Office Suite, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and scheduling software.
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, as well as familiarity with permitting and subcontractor relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in the commercial and industrial construction sector.

Working Conditions:

Ability to work extended hours as necessary – 50+ hours.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to communicate with subcontractors, construction workers, inspectors, regulators, and colleagues, while safely navigating both office and construction site environments.
