Reports to: Commander of Field Operations

Shift Length: 8 hours a Day

Shifts:

  • Day Shifts: 6:00am - 2:30pm, 6:30am - 3pm, 9:30am - 6:00pm
  • Evening Shift: 1:45pm - 10:15pm
  • Night Shift: 10:15pm - 6:30am

Position Summary: The Safety Officer II plays a crucial supervisory role, tasked with the management of school safety and the oversight of mobile security personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for evaluating Safety Officers for performance and compliance with established protocols
  • Provide guidance and leadership to School Safety Officers
  • Implement disciplinary measures when necessary
  • Ensure accurate documentation of incident reports
  • Investigate grievances and infractions occurring on school premises
  • Supervise officers and carry out inspections
  • Maintain assigned vehicle in accordance with guidelines
  • Adhere to driving regulations and issue citations for violations
  • Assist with departmental reporting and uphold security licensing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Capable of analyzing situations and making informed decisions based on standard operating procedures
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills

Experience:

  • At least 3 years as Safety Officer I or 5 years in law enforcement
  • Successfully completed the requirements for Safety Officer II
  • Maintain a valid driver's license, security license, and good standing with the DMV

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical activities as necessary

Working Conditions and Environment:

  • Regular work in an office setting with minimal physical hazards
