Pediatric Pulmonary Ventilator Unit Advanced Practice Professional

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional to join our Pediatric Pulmonary Ventilator Unit team at the University of Michigan. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities- Perform history and physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies
- Document in electronic medical record
- Collaborate with other pediatric ventilator unit team members, including physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, dieticians, and social workers
- Patient/family education from admission to discharge
- Respond to calls from patients/families and care teams
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
- Current specialty certification to practice as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan with two years of APP experience managing pediatric patients requiring mechanical ventilation
- Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)
- Current DEA registration required
- AHA approved BLS/PALS
- Two years of clinical experience in inpatient pediatrics with high acuity and complex medical needs
