Job Overview:
Nikkiso ACD specializes in engineering and manufacturing machinery designed for operation at cryogenic temperatures, reaching as low as 420 degrees Fahrenheit, the boiling point of liquid hydrogen. With over 50 years of expertise, we excel in centrifugal and reciprocating pumps, as well as turbines for air separation, offering the most diverse product line in the industry for various applications requiring pumps or turboexpanders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble cryogenic pump components and perform additional assigned tasks.
  • Fit, align, and adjust components, including bearings and seals, to precise tolerances, documenting all clearances on assembly clearance data sheets for engineering review.
  • Verify work to ensure compliance with specifications, customer requirements, and all applicable drawings/blueprints and work instructions per standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and rework parts as necessary, contributing to failure analysis when requested.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Adhere to all Quality, Engineering, Sales, and Safety Procedures.
  • Ensure consistent attendance to meet production schedules.
  • Disassemble used pumps and equipment carefully, analyzing parts for potential damage causes to enhance reliability and customer service.
  • Keep equipment operational by fulfilling preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and requesting repairs as needed.
  • Meet customer and company production schedules with over 80% on-time performance.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience in refrigeration/HVAC or cryogenic systems is advantageous.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Brazing or welding capabilities.
  • Experience in balancing and laser machining.
  • Machining and inspection skills.
  • Ability to read prints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of cryogenics and/or refrigeration.
  • Basic understanding of AC/DC circuitry.
  • Familiarity with materials of construction.
  • Understanding of various system components such as regulators, valves, solenoids, and pressure relief devices.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • This role may require standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, talking, and using hands to manipulate tools or controls.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs may be necessary.
  • Overtime may be required based on workload, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment.
  • Candidates may need to provide a clean driving history for travel between facilities and client locations as required.

Environmental Safety Requirements:

  • New employees must complete safety training, including safety awareness.
  • All safety-related training is provided and monitored by the EHS Manager.
  • Job-specific training modules deemed necessary by the employee's manager or director will be required on an ongoing basis.

Employees are required to wear Nikkiso-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed, including safety shoes, glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, and more. Non-compliance with safety requirements may result in disciplinary actions.
