Job Title: Substation Superintendent

As a Substation Superintendent with Kiewit Corporation, you will play a critical role in the success of our Transmission and Substation projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance of our projects. Your expertise in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration will be essential in maintaining positive working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and job site staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and develop junior superintendents to ensure their growth and success
  • Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers
  • Manage contract administration, including subcontractor and field management meetings
  • Develop and implement a program to maintain good client relations
  • Initiate and attend meetings with clients to resolve problems and plan project execution
  • Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
  • Review, approve, and negotiate change orders
  • Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
  • Maintain daily records for record-keeping purposes
  • Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural changes as needed
  • Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foreman
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of construction experience, with 3+ years in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
Working Conditions:

This role requires regular, reliable attendance and the ability to work productively and meet deadlines. You will be required to communicate and interact effectively with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. You will also be expected to perform work safely and effectively, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.

Base Compensation: $138,000/yr - $144,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
