About the Role

Cinterra is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our solar construction team, you will be responsible for coordinating the site electrical construction schedule, execution plan, and managing daily issues involved during the construction of solar generation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all electrical site construction activities and supervise electrical field personnel to ensure successful project completion on schedule and within budget.
  • Build a safe, high-quality, and profitable solar project by maintaining a positive relationship with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
  • Provide accurate information about site activities, including install rates, task completion, and hazards to the Construction Site Manager.
  • Schedule and ensure appropriate staffing for daily construction activities with employees.
  • Identify potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues, and maintain the electrical construction schedule.
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Understand project plans and specifications, and prepare schedules and supervise completion of a final electrical punch list.
  • Ensure transmission line structures, including foundations and access, are built as per specification.
  • Execute site prep work as per contracts, design, and specification.
  • Manage quality control programs to ensure processes are implemented according to design and are consistent.
  • Maintain an organized job site, including the onsite construction office.
  • Manage QA for electrical construction, design change notices, subcontractor contracts, and electrical materials on site.
  • Ensure the safety of electrical crews to the highest level.
  • Complete all required permitting activities before commencement of work.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 4+ years of solar construction environment or utility construction environment experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Advanced level of knowledge in safety and OSHA requirements, LOTO implementation and management, electrical installation experience, interpretation of project schedules, planning and task direction, adaptability to environment, working in fast-paced environments, interpretation of scopes of work, project permits, decision-making, understanding environmental concepts, including permit requirements, interpreting state rules and regulations, contract management, sub-contractor and vendor and materials management, electrical construction drawing review, and electrical drawing quantity takeoff.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge in project management, creating logical and resource-loaded project schedules, budget analysis and controls, estimating work efforts, change orders, QA/QC processes, development of processes and procedures, continuous improvement, project finance, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Basic level of knowledge in engineering management, scheduling software, and proficient in construction in both electric substations and transmission lines.

  • Occasionally: Exposure to extreme cold, vibrations, extreme heat, humidity, and wet working conditions.
  • Frequently: Sitting, standing, and walking is required.
  • Frequently: Exposure to noise and hazards.
  • Constantly: Reading, grasping, reaching, vision, repetitive motion, and hearing is required.

The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
