POSITION SUMMARY:

This role serves as a key expert in the field, offering professional guidance and support in addressing intricate laboratory-related technical challenges within the domains of chemistry, engineering, industrial microbiology, and other applied sciences pertinent to operational issues faced by Aramco Services Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will undertake significant investigative projects with minimal oversight. These projects are expected to be comprehensive and innovative. The role involves functioning within laboratory units that provide specialized services, including Advanced Instruments, Drilling and Production Services, and Core Services, among others. The individual typically reports to a unit supervisor but may also engage directly with the Team Leader.

The successful candidate will independently manage research projects, leveraging their expertise and design capabilities, alongside computational tools, to explore alternative production methodologies, develop new products, and assess associated capital and operational costs. This analysis will support strategic decisions regarding R&D initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and the evaluation of processes for licensing opportunities.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Offer specialized advice and support in technical areas such as industrial and analytical chemistry, microbiology, and engineering to enhance the company's exploration and production processes.
  • Conduct original research addressing technical challenges that extend beyond existing literature.
  • Stay abreast of significant advancements in the field of specialization and apply this knowledge to high-level investigative assignments.
  • Prepare detailed professional reports on research findings and review existing patents.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of current laboratory instrumentation and technology.
  • Ensure a safe and accident-free laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other R&D sectors within the company to foster intellectual property development and business growth. Publish findings in relevant journals and present at conferences.
  • Lead or participate in major investigative projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline; a PhD is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of nine years of experience in a significant industrial, technological, or laboratory setting relevant to the assigned tasks.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal, necessary for effective job performance.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with experience in project presentations and travel for meetings.

PROFESSIONAL INTERACTIONS:

  • Engage with various levels within Aramco Services Company and its subsidiaries regarding specific technical issues.
  • Interact with industry professionals and academic institutions through collaborative projects and partnerships.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Utilize standard office equipment, including computers and communication devices.
  • Read and interpret a variety of technical documents and reports.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management within a Windows environment.
  • Travel as necessary for meetings and conferences.
