Job Title: Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.

Job Summary

This is a full-time, weekend shift position in our Inpatient Imaging Department. You will be responsible for performing radiography (x-ray) examinations, preparing patients for exams, and ensuring technical quality of images. You will also be required to enter and monitor patient data, perform quality assurance on radiology equipment, and assist with initial and renewal applications for ACR and other accreditation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform radiography (x-ray) examinations on patients, ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures.
  • Prepare patients for exams, obtain and record patient vital signs, explain procedures, administer IV and contrast when necessary, position patients for exams, select appropriate imaging techniques, and ensure technical quality of images.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, perform quality assurance on radiology equipment, and assist with initial and renewal applications for ACR and other accreditation.
  • Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Take emergency calls within the department and may be required to work weekends and float to other locations as needed.
  • May administer breath alcohol tests and/or urine drug screens.
  • May be required to perform patient registration tasks such as verifying insurance, collecting payments, etc.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
