Job Description:

The Associate Vice President for Fiscal Affairs will play a critical role in the planning, operation, direction, and supervision of all financial and administrative operations at MassArt. This includes oversight of relationships and management of partnerships with key 3rd party vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Vice President of Administration & Finance (CFO), the Associate Vice President will be responsible for the development and planning, organization and direction of programs, policies, and activities of the Fiscal Affairs office, Bursar, Business Office, and Financial Aid.
  • Supervision of the college budget, working closely with the V.P. Administration and Finance on planning and strategic allocation of college resources to meet strategic and financial goals.
  • Receipt, dispersal, and accounting of all funds collected from all sources under the applicable laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, GAAP, and federal regulations.
  • Dissemination of information within the College on budgetary processes and procedures related to operating, grant funds, and capital expenditures.
  • Continuing control and audits of all budgeted accounts for the state appropriated and institutionally managed trust funds operation, including compliance and risk management.
  • Supervision of the preparation and execution of requisitions for new plant equipment in the capital outlay budget.
  • Providing and evaluating data of a budgetary nature for college and non-college personnel, essential to the operation of the College.
  • Responsible for providing necessary statistical and financial reports for the operation of the College.
  • Serves as liaison within A&F to the Offices of Administrative Services, Human Resources, Technology, and Facilities, and in conjunction with department heads to recommend, develop, review, and implement new programs and special projects, as needed.
  • Lead special projects in coordination with senior leadership and department staff to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of and plan for changing business operations and develop strategic partnerships that help the organization achieve its goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business administration, public administration, or related field.
  • At least 8 years of financial management associated with a complex and fast-moving environment.
  • Prior related experience in an educational setting.
  • Must have experience working with diverse populations and have the ability to deal with faculty and staff in a multicultural, multiracial environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business administration, public administration, or related field, plus 10 years of financial management associated with a complex and fast-moving environment.
  • Experience in public higher education.
  • Experience with ERP software.
