We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Program Director to lead our Rural Family Medicine Residency Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum, recruiting and mentoring residents, and ensuring the program's accreditation and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Curriculum Development: Design and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of rural family medicine residents, including clinical and educational experiences.
  2. Resident Recruitment and Mentoring: Recruit and mentor residents to ensure a diverse and talented group of physicians who are committed to serving underserved populations.
  3. Program Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure the program's accreditation and compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  4. Faculty Development: Provide opportunities for faculty development, including training and education on rural health issues and family medicine.
  5. Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders to ensure the program's relevance and impact.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an accredited residency program in Family Medicine.
  • Certification: Certification and recertification by the American Board of Family Medicine.
  • Experience: Five or more years of experience in Family Medicine, with three to five years of experience as faculty in a Family Medicine Residency Training program.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, faculty, and community partners.
