Position Overview:
  • As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will deliver comprehensive mechanical engineering support through various activities including review, research, analysis, design, communication, coordination, and field observation.
Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that mechanical project objectives are achieved effectively, aligning with both client expectations and institutional standards. You will collaborate with project managers to address engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and providing feedback on engineering outputs from external architectural and engineering firms. This position necessitates collaboration with all project team members during planning, design, construction, and warranty phases. You will also offer post-project facility engineering consultation and provide design, analysis, and field engineering support for selected projects and facility programs. Additionally, you will extend engineering support to operations and maintenance teams and conduct condition assessments as part of the building condition assessment initiative. You will also engage in activities related to the development and maintenance of institutional design standards.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

For the Mechanical Project Engineer role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology with a mechanical focus, along with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering. Experience in design, analysis, condition assessment, project engineering, and facilities engineering related to building mechanical systems is essential. Familiarity with HVAC system commissioning and control strategies is preferred, as is experience with energy-efficient design concepts. Proficiency in AutoCAD or Microstation drafting is also desired. Consideration will be given to equivalent combinations of education and experience. FE certification is preferred.

For the Senior Mechanical Engineering Specialist role, a Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology with a mechanical emphasis is required, along with Indiana PE Registration or the ability to obtain it within 90 days. A minimum of four (4) years of experience in mechanical engineering is necessary, with equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
